"This artwork is the final submission from the artist Yolantis for the 'Humanity' event by the Faerian gallery. The artist created this piece in 3 days, inspired by a prompt that was submitted by the public. In a unique twist, instead of being interpreted by an AI, this time the prompt was brought to life by a human artist. The entire creative process was livestreamed online and at the NFC Lisboa event.

Was AI used? -- Yes, I included four AI generative images inside the AR experience. I would consider my AI ratio at 20% or less of the work I did.

How is your final artwork related to the prompt? -- The 3-D render of the earth as seen from space gives us a global perspective that our ocean health affects our planet. The AR experience shows images that speak to algae blooms and the great Pacific Garbage Patch. The 3-D modeled bottle caps are included because they end up killing sea birds and marine life who mistake caps for food.

Why did you choose this prompt? -- It was assigned to me

Explain more your creative process: -- I really wanted to try creating an AR experience. I researched ocean pollution lightly and found images of deceased sea birds with bellies full of bottle caps. Then I remembered I had taken a trip to Glass Beach in California in 2016, so I imported my own photo of the glass on that beach. The area was a military dumping ground and the glass bottles that were refuse have now been turned to sea glass. The image of the earth in space was done in DAZ3-D, the bottle caps in Adobe Dimension, the AR experience in Adobe Aero.
