The Prison

Introducing

The Prison

"The Prison" portrays the inability to overcome mental barriers and recurring obstacles, evoking confinement and urging self-reflection for personal growth.

"The Prison" is centered around the concept that certain doors cannot be opened. Through this artwork, my intention is to convey the profound feeling of being trapped within specific circumstances, mental barriers, and unyielding obstacles that persistently resurface even after years or decades. The artwork consists of a video featuring three images that appear and disappear. These images function as metaphors for the internal struggles and external forces that confine us, impeding our progress and preventing us from breaking free from the confines of our own minds. The repetition of these sphere-like images emphasizes the cyclic nature of these hindrances. It underscores the frustration and despair of encountering the same barriers repeatedly, despite our best efforts to overcome them. These barriers symbolize personal fears, societal norms, or structures that confine and restrict our potential. By employing a black and white color scheme, I aim to evoke a sense of confinement and entrapment. The contrast between these two tones reflects the weightiness and stagnation experienced when trapped. The presence of rough edges represents the challenges we encounter in our quest for liberation. The composition may be intentionally tight and claustrophobic, intensifying the feeling of being boxed in and unable to escape. "The Prison" serves as a poignant reminder of the limitations we all confront in life. It encourages viewers to reflect on the barriers that hold them back, prompting introspection and self-awareness. By acknowledging the existence of these insurmountable obstacles, individuals can embark on exploring alternative paths, discover coping mechanisms, and ultimately strive for personal growth and liberation.
