Inspired by these 15 Greek gods, Carl Jung proposed the theory of human archetypes. He believed that every person we see in society has some of each of these 15 gods. 8 male archetypes and 7 female archetypes.
All human beings, regardless of their race, age and gender, have a part of all 8 male gods in their animus and a part of all 7 female gods in their anima.
Male gods are divided into two general categories: 1- Fathers: Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. 2- young boys : Ares, Hephaestus, Apollo, Hermes and Dionysus.
Female goddesses are divided into three general categories: 1- Independents: define themselves as independent from men. Like Athena, Hestia and Artemis. 2- Dependents: They define themselves as dependent on men. Like Demeter, Hera, and Persephone. 3- Aphrodite: Aphrodite has its own independent category.
