"Joie de Vivre" is a collection that began as a tribute to artist Jeannine Chanin Penn's mother, who passed away in 1989, and her grandmother, whom she never had the opportunity to meet. Her personal Legacy Art was a way to celebrate and remember these two influential women. However, the collection evolved into something more profound. After an amazing experience at an artist residency at Chateau Orquevaux in France and finding 1950's French fashion magazines while thrifting in the countryside of France, Jeannine's perspective broadened. She realized that the women from the magazines resonated deeply with her memories and impressions of her mother and grandmother and many other women past and present in her life. Thus, "Joie de Vivre" emerged as a celebration of all women who posses universal beauty inside and out, a zest for life, and are ready to leave it all on the field!
