Pampulha Church

The São Francisco de Assis Church, better known as Igrejinha da Pampulha, is part of the architectural ensemble that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The church, as well as the entire complex, was conceived by Oscar Niemeyer in 1943, at the request of the then mayor Juscelino Kubitschek, Belo Horizonte. Travessia is a series of photos turned into paintings of many different historical cities of Minas Gerais, Brazil. They also depict some pictures from the Holy Week in Ouro Preto and some other tourist spots. The purpose of this collection is to display the wonders of Minas Gerais: its landscape, its cities and its culture, so that people around the world get to know this magical Brazilian state.
