Feeding on my heart's abundant need,

Deception's touch, a cunning hand.
Years unfurled like a woven lie,
In your illusion's grasp, did I comply,
Believed your words, your feigned embrace,
While you consumed me at a steady pace.
I thought your love was a sacred flame,
But your intent was a darker game,
A siren's call that drew me near,
Only to fill your hunger, I now fear.
As my shields lowered, defenses down,
You struck with venom's silent crown,
My core laid bare, my heart undone,
Your treachery revealed, victory won.
Now I stand, a phoenix from the ash,
Breaking free from your cunning clash,
Though you took much, you won't define,
The strength within that's truly mine.
No longer your vessel, no longer your host,
I cast away your shadows, your ghost,
For from this wreckage, I shall rise,
A survivor of your deceitful guise.
