Ispica: cults and traditions in eastern Sicily

The first NFT collection on the traditions of eastern Sicily. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the respective brotherhoods

The project was born from the warmth and feeling transmitted over the years by observing these passionate religious processions, with their gestures, their sounds, their rhythmic rhythms, and their splendid people.

I still remember, more than 25 years ago, seeing the first Madonna dell'Assunta, amidst the roar of the fires at the exit and people dressed up for the holidays. For someone from Rome like me it was definitely an unusual and surprising scenario, but the wonder multiplied the first time I witnessed the Holy Week of Easter, in which 2 colors, red and blue, contrasted and accompanied each other continuously. Over the years I have tried to capture its essence and this photographic project aims to be a tribute to it. The need to adhere to the GDPR was a stimulus to find a way of artistic realization that in many shots recalled the pictorial arts.

Part of the proceeds will be donated to the brotherhoods, to which copies of the original shots will also be donated.
