If I didn't believe in the madness,
The thrill and the fear, the love and the sadness,
If I didn't believe in the quest for the prize,
I would never know what it means to rise.
If I didn't believe in the mountain,
The heights to be scaled, the depths to be fountained,
If I didn't believe in the climb to the top,
I would never know where my journey can stop.
If I didn't believe in the truth,
The thrill and the fear that lay within,
The love that the religions could gladness,
My heart would not know where to begin.
If I didn't believe in the fire inside,
The passion that burns, the love that I hide,
If I didn't believe in the power of dreams,
I would never know what it means to gleam.
If I didn't believe in the ache of my heart,
The tears that I cry, the moments we'll part,
If I didn't believe in the war and the peace,
I would never know what it means to release.
If I didn't believe I could achieve,
The goals I have set, the streams I now dream,
I'd never taste triumph, never weave
The life that I want, or so it would seem.
But belief fuels my fire, stirs my soul,
It pushes me onward, toward my goal.
So I'll trust in the madness, and pay belief's toll,
For in pain and in peace, it makes me feel whole.
So I'll hold on to my madness, my mountain, truth in my fire,
And embrace the thrill, the fear, and the desire.
For I know that without them, I'd be incomplete,
And my journey through life would be bittersweet.
So when you persist to break me,
To take a scissor, and crop my wings.
Just remember nothing on this F*cking Planet,
will ever take me, from my faith to:
